Gets really interesting and extremely relevant to current issues/bioethics.  Starts with cell division – mitosis and meiosis, moves on to – Mendelian genetics and beyond, chromosomes as units of inheritance; gene structure, function (protein synthesis), and regulation;  comparitive account of genes in viruses, bacteria, and eukaryotes; biotechnology; and ends with gene regulation during embryonic development.
